Our Story

Victorian Publishing was created in January 2020 by Maranda Evans, in honor of her late grandmother Mildred “Mil” Victorian Stoot. Maranda’s goal since the tragic loss she suffered on July 16, 2016 was to build something to continue the legacy of her grandmother, who was her #1 supporter when she released her first memoir, Troubled. The lotus flower in our logo represents purity, rebirth, enlightenment, and self-regeneration.

Maranda has been editing, ghostwriting, and providing self-publishing consultations and referrals since January 2018. Victorian Publishing is her “next step” in growth as an author, editor, and publisher. Her love for books and literary creativity is filled with both passion and purpose.

“To see the smile and excitement on my writing client’s face after they have officially become an author is the best part of what I do. I am lucky to be a part of that creation and process. It truly touches my heart. By creating Victorian Publishing, I can spread the love my grandmother had for anyone she met by having her name on many more literary masterpieces to come.”

Although Victorian Publishing, Inc. is based in Houston, Texas; our services are available all around the country. No matter what city you are in, we are here to assist!

Our Inspiration

Mildred “Mil” Victorian Stoot was a beautiful, loving spirit and woman. Not only was she a homemaker to her husband (Felix Stoot 1929-2015) and son (Dennis Stoot 1970-2007), she raised her nieces, nephews, and most importantly her granddaughter, Maranda Evans, or as she would say “Randa Poo”. She welcomed any and everyone into her home with open arms. Neighbors, friends, family, friends of family, church members, all were welcome to visit at any time. Every holiday and gathering was held at The Stoot House. Her cooking was like none other and was even how she captured the attention of her husband of 50+ years. Life will never be the same without her, but in all things she taught everyone how to love, encourage, and give all you can to others. Mil’s hobbies were cooking, tending to her backyard garden and flowers, and watching her soap operas with those that surrounded her.

In loving memory, Mildred Victorian Stoot, 1933-2016

A Top 10 Service

“Maranda is passionate about what she does. Not only is she a great author, but she pushes her clients to be as well. Her aggressive nature is motivating instead of demeaning. Without it, I probably wouldn’t have finished my book, let alone published it.”
